What the Esaad Card is
The Esaad Card is a loyalty and discount card launched by Dubai Police in March 2018. It gives holders offers across sectors such as commercial, tourism, entertainment, healthcare and education, with participating companies in the UAE and abroad. Eligibility depends on where you work, not on an open application, and the quickest way to find out is to enter your Emirates ID on the official registration page. It was recently extended to students of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme.
Who is eligible
| Group | Eligible? |
|---|---|
| Dubai Police staff | Yes |
| Employees of government institutions and authorities | Yes |
| Staff of semi-government and private companies with an Esaad agreement | Yes, if the company has signed one |
| Scholarship students covered by the new memorandum | Yes |
| Parents, spouse and children of a cardholder | Reported to be able to use the offers |
| Anyone else | Not on its own |
Eligibility rules are set by the Esaad Card Centre and can change.
How to check, step by step
- Go to the registration page on the official Esaad website.
- Enter your full name, mobile number and Emirates ID number.
- If your ID is registered in the Esaad system, you can apply for the card.
- If it is not, ask your employer’s HR team whether the company has an agreement with the Esaad Card Centre.
Imagine This: Two Colleagues, One Answer
Both colleagues here are made up. One works for a government authority and finds her ID registered straight away. The other works for a private firm that never signed an agreement, so his ID is not found. His next step is not a second attempt on the site. It is a short message to HR asking whether the company has an Esaad agreement, since only the employer can arrange one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the card if I am a family member of an eligible employee?
Reports say a cardholder’s parents, spouse and children can also use the offers. Confirm the current rule with the Esaad Card Centre.
Is there a fee?
The pages checked do not mention one. Ask the Esaad Card Centre before you apply.
What if my Emirates ID is not found on the registration page?
It usually means your employer has no agreement with the Esaad Card Centre. Ask your HR team, since only the employer can arrange one.
Are the offers only in Dubai?
No. Participating companies are in the UAE and abroad, across sectors such as tourism, entertainment, healthcare and education.
